Milan Fashion Week 2012 - Corneliani Collection

Milan fashion week kicked off in fine style on Saturday, 14 January 2012. The key colours have been black, navy and greys - colours which reflect the economic gloom that is hovering over Europe. In this second instalment of articles on new season collections showcased during Milan Fashion Week, we focus on Corneliani's collection for Fall/Winter 2012/2013.

For those of you who may not have heard of Corneliani, Corneliani is renowned for its stunning suiting and sports coats. Established in the 1930's,Corneliani's history can be traced back to the city of Mantua, Italy, a city renowned for its art and culture. Today, like its designer counterparts, Corneliani produces a wide range of high-quality men's accessories.

The colours in the Corneliani menswear collection was similar to other designers, dark shades were a feature of their collection.

The Corneliani collection was the pick of the designers in terms of men's businesswear - the collection epitomised class. The renaissance of the double breasted suit was abundantly clear in the Corneliani collection but albeit with a modern and streamlined fit.

The skinny tie is out, with traditional ties back in vogue and square-end ties being seen more frequently.

Darker shades of business shirts were another feature. Grey will be a feature this winter (Poplin & Panache's Fall/Winter 2012 Collection will house grey toned business shirts). Another feature of the Corneliani collection was the presence of pocket squares. The pocket square provided a subtle dash of colour that vivified the dark shades of suiting.
